The Sanur Independent School is a non-profit organization based in Sanur, Bali. It was established in 1996 to meet the educational requirements of children, of both Indonesian and non-Indonesian origin.

Education is provided in a traditional school environment with a combination of English speaking and local Indonesian teachers.

The Governing Body comprises of a Board of Directors, the Principal and a Representative of the Yayasan (Foundation). They are responsible for making all decisions regarding the general organization and daily operation of the school, including future developments. While parents are encouraged to voice any concerns or opinions in writing to the Board, the Board controls all decisions regarding the running of the school.

An annual school meeting will be held on July 31st. each year in order to appoint new Board Members and inform parents of the progress made and achievements reached throughout the previous year. Any parent is eligible for the board nominations.

There is also a Parents & Friends Association (P&F), which all parents are encouraged to join. The prime function of the P&F being to assist the school with fundraising, social functions and possible assistance with daily activities such as reading, sports and any other areas of parental expertise.
